Frequently Asked Question

Your Vaultwarden account can be accessed via the Vaultwarden Web Vault or any of the Bitwarden applications or browser extensions.

When signing into any of the Bitwarden apps or extensions, it is important that before entering your email address, you press the section at the bottom that says "Accessing: bitwarden.com" and set the Server URL to "https://vault.daveking.au" in order to be able to sign into the correct server.

You will obviously need to have access to the credentials and codes to access the account and these should be backed up and stored somewhere safe and easily accessible should you need to sign back in. If your account was set up for you, you are likely to have a backup copy of the details that you require in your Apple Passwords app (if applicable) or somewhere else similar, as communicated to you when the account was set up. It is important you make sure that this is kept up to date and you know where and how to access it.

After signing in, it is recommended to go through the Settings and ensure that a PIN/Biometrics are setup for easy access, otherwise you will need to enter your Master Password every time you open the app.

Web Vault

The web vault can be accessed by opening the website (https://vault.daveking.au) in your browser of choice, and following the steps. This does not need to have the server details changed as it is directly on the server.

1. Enter your email address and password
   
   
2. Follow the steps to verify your passkey (if enabled).
   If you cannot use your passkey, Press "Select another method" and use another available method, like Authenticator app and use your 6-digit code.
   
   
   

Bitwarden App

These instructions may differ slightly, based on the app you are using and the Operating System, but they will be pretty close regardless.
Bitwarden apps can be downloaded here or searched on the App Stores.

1. Change the option under the email address box that says "Logging in on:" or "Accessing:", to "Self-hosted" making sure when selecting this option to ensure the Server URL is set to "https://vault.daveking.au".
2. Enter the emaill address and password for you account in the appropriate places, or use one of the available options on the password screen if applicable.
3. Follow the steps to verify your passkey (if enabled).
   If you cannot use your passkey, Press the menu button in the top right hand corner (three dots) and use another available method, like Authenticator app and use your 6-digit code.
